PLJESKAVICA: Pleskavitsa is one of the most consumed flavors in the Balkan region and Serbia… The most important feature of this dish, known as Bosnian meatballs or pljeskavica, is that it has huge meatballs. These meatballs are all prepared with plenty of fatty ground meat and a little spice. In some regions, they are cooked with kashar cheese inside. They are placed inside puffy lavash bread, topped with a yogurt sauce and served with a salad.

SARMA: It is known as a Turkish dish, stuffed vine leaves. Its filling is flavored with rice, tomatoes, onions, and various spices. It is stuffed with rice and meat wrapped in cabbage or grape leaves. Yogurt is also served with sarma, which is preferred to be served hot. It is thought that the sour version of sarma is the most preferred.

GIBANICA: Although a common dish in countries such as Croatia, Slovenia and N. Macedonia, gibanica is primarily associated with Serbia. It is a traditional dish that combines yufka dough (sometimes replaced with yeast dough) with a combination of creamy cheese and eggs. The most popular version of this versatile dish is known among the public as gužvara, which means wrinkled.

KROFNE: Sweet pastry similar to fudge, usually decorated with powdered sugar. Also called Balkan lokma.

SAMPİTA: One of the most popular local Sarajevo dishes. A type of pastry, pita can be filled with different ingredients such as cheese, spinach, potatoes, pumpkin. It is prepared in a round or flat shape. It is recommended to drink ayran with it. Known as local fast food, pita can be found almost everywhere at affordable prices.

RATLUK: A jelly-like dessert, usually covered with peanuts or walnuts.
